Microfilter/Main Socket/ISP Problem...so confused!
well here goes...a couple of days ago, my internet went really slow from 4mb to like 512...so i went to where it is plugged in (the main socket) and disconnected it, made sure its securely in and restarted the router (supplied by o2). Now my internet started disconnecting every few minutes so i went to the main socket again and replaced the filter...now i get no internet or broadband light on the router and no dial tone, with the brand new filter supplied by o2, i tried 5 older filters and they all dont work except for the one i was using already :S i phoned o2 and they cant seem to find out what the problem is, they sent out a new router with new wires, filters etc...and with all the brand new equipment i still ge the same problem i.e disconnecting with the old filter and no internet and dial tone with the new filters...anyone got a clue what's going on? (oh and btw it is plugged in at the test socket)

Have o2 performed a test on your telephone line to see if there are any problems? If there are then they log a fault to BT Wholesale for investigation

yeah they said they have been testing it and they said it might be a problem with the internal wiring, but they have not mentioned anything about bt. what do you think i should say to them?

I would ask them if there is a problem on the line.

i phoned them and they said the line is fine but they said it doesn't necessarily mean everything is okay. i told them about the filter issue and they said they have to do some overnight testing with my line with my phone unplugged.
