Firewall log in router settings

I've just been looking at the settings for the Belkin wireless router we have set up and came across the firewall log, is this normal??

Firewall log:

Found Syncflood attack from 81.56.38.101 in port 10765 => Fri Nov 28 10:51:43 2008

Found PingDeath attack from 83.22.77.245 in port ICMP => Fri Nov 28 10:51:43 2008

Found PingDeath attack from 81.35.162.143 in port ICMP => Fri Nov 28 10:51:43 2008

Found Syncflood attack from 125.65.165.132 in port 3128 => Fri Nov 28 10:51:43 2008

Im a complete novice at these things but seeing PingDeath attack is slightly worrying............

Re: Firewall log in router settings

Someone pinged your machine, which is nothing to worry about.

You can do this yourself from Start > Run. Type in CMD. Press ok.
type in Ping google.co.uk and press enter.
You're now pinging google ;)

Re: Firewall log in router settings

Susie - it is just evidence that your router's firewall is doing it's job.
There are always automated 'attacks' probing random IP ranges, which is why we all need a firewall in place. These 'attacks' are nothing personal.
