WGR614v9 Slow LAN
 

Hi,

my mom just recieved this WGR614v9 router, and when I connected her computer to the internet through this, the internet is considerably slower, despite being the only computer connected via ethernet...

I've read in some places that the wireless is actually faster than the LAN with this device... crazy...

Anyone know of a setting I might have overlooked?

I set it up via the Virgin media connect thing, then viewed the settings myself, but nothing I've changed has made it any faster or slower...

I tried updating the firmware but apparently Virgin have locked it, so that was a bust...

Is there going to be more than one computer connected to the Internet?

Yes, I eventually hope to connect mine to it, but sharing it at the current speed is ridiculous, and we are stuck this way until the wireless network adapters arrive, I disconnected my computer to allow mom to play her bingo (but it was still slow through the router so I put her staight back into the modem)
