Is it possible to pause and/or rewind a programme that is being watched (not recorded)?

Yes.

Yes, if you have a V+ box but not possible on an ordinary set top box.

sometimes when a box has not been changed for a while (no idea how long - suspect hours) - you can't because it is in 'energy saving mode, and just waking up' (although I am not convinced it is saving an energy, based on a energy monitor I have).

Is there any way you can turn this 'feature' off (energy saving mode that is). This energy saving mode is not the same as standby.
