Problems with BBC site from SK10 ???
 

Hi,
Anyone else finding they're having trouble getting to www.bbc.co.uk ?

Sometimes it just times out, sometimes I do get the home page displayed if I wait for a minute or so.

Other sites seem to be ok.

It's big site you know..and it does fall over from time to time..be patient, it's never unreachable for very long..;) and I cannot even begin to imagine the numbers visiting the site at anyone time...

Well, as you said no probs in Prestbury, I thought I'd try it again.
This time it displayed in reasonable time, but, across the top, it says:

"Due to technical problems, we are displaying a simplified version of the BBC homepage"


... and there's much more limited details on it than normal. So looks like they know there's a problem.

It won't open for me either, and I'm not even using my VM connection....

yep it's not loading now..but that's probably due to over subscription of the site which happens regularly.

I can't get to my H2G2 hompage there either so it's across the board.
