Tight VNC/ Open VPN

Just had my first experience with the above, connecting to a server in the states, and it all seems fairly straightforward (if a little jerky, if you know what I mean).

Is it usual for your Internet connection to be terminated outside the VPN tunnel while you're connected though? Whilst I was connected I couldn't browse the Internet from my usual browser.....I'm guessing all traffic is being directed down the tunnel?

You need to change your settings on the VPN tunnel so that it doesn't set your Gateway to the IP of the remote one, that doesn't always work, if you untick that setting then it should use your local one for Internet access.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that when I connect again tomorrow :)
