V+ box rebooting, TV service Lost
Just watched a recording, and when finished i stopped it. My V+ box then froze for about 30 seconds and then rebooted it self. It boots back up and shows the current channel status at the bottom of the screen, then screen goes black and it reboots again.
Does anyone know if the box has died? Thanks. ---------- Post added at 19:11 ---------- Previous post was at 19:10 ---------- Forgot to say, I've removed power lead for 5 minutes or so and plugged it back in, but get the same results. |

Yeah exactly the same, does it on channel 114, I can change it for about 5 seconds but still got a black screen, and it goes back to 114 after reboot.
I'll give CS a ring now, thanks for the reply. |

Re: V+ box rebooting, TV service Lost
I lost BOTH my V+ boxes to this problem in the sapce of 2 weeks of each other (14 months old)
There are 2 reasons for this (one VM's and the other my hypothesis) VM say that if you fill up the memory of the V+ box with recordings and keep them for a long time the box disk 'corrupts' and the only way to restart is by wiping the drive and starting again. The techs will replace your boxes when they come worringly VM have ideas to sort this problem out remotely via the cable itseldfin the near future (by deleting all your recordings for you (nice) and rebooting the unit) Hypothesis DESPITE being told the above both techs fitted forward path attenuators (1 was 4db and the other 10db) - this leads me to believe that the cable signal was set too high for the box and it got fried (or something like that) Regards |
