Document storage/management on Linux?

I'm trying to find a simple way to tag and store a largish bunch of PDFs so they can be easily accessed - ideally with a web interface.

At the moment I'm wondering about Knowledge Tree on Ubuntu but it seems a bit (ok - completely) over the top for my simple home use purposes. I just wondered if any of the knowledgable folk on here might have any suggestions?

Please :)

Edit: OK, forget Knowledge Tree - for some bizarre reason I was under the impression it was free for home use. Those prices certainly rule it out!

For MS based kit I would suggest Paperport however there's an open source equivalent available here
