wall mount or desk mount.

whats the pros and cons for these two. I surpose desk mount you dont have to drill holes to mount your lcd.

Could you share some experience and perhaps recommend one?

The problem with many desk mounts is the lack of vertical adjustment plus the footprint of the monitor stand taking up desk space (ok it's usually not that much)

With wall mounting you may be able to mount it at the correct height for yourself but it might not be quite right for another person who uses your workstation. The monitor will also be a fixed distance away from you which might not be optimal.

Have you thought about an arm mount with a gas spring which clamps to the edge of the desk or even a gas adjustable pole mount?

Sorry when I said desk mount I was refering to the gas spring like this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/137377 or http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148180 vs something like http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...7C10199220.htm

Gas spring arm mount any day. But not a Kensington one, certainly not if it's in the same quality league as the notebook locks ;)

why would you choose a Gas spring arm mount over a wall mount?
could you recommend Gas spring arm mount?
I'm because designing my new workspace at the moment I got the normal lcd with its stand sitting on my desk. I have an LCD TV in my bedroom but I'm not sure if I would like one by my workstation. Then I saw the Gas spring arm mount and wondered what they were like.

What sort of usage is your workstation going to see?

Are you in a position where you'll be working from home for example and working at the screen for prolonged periods of time? If so, I would be inclined to go for a desk clamping pole mount such as this range:

http://www.ergoindemand.com/flat_scr...r_arm_pole.htm

You'll have the flexibility of vertical adjustment without it being accidentally knocked out of the position you're comfortable with

On the other hand the gas spring arm type is particularly great for me because my work space is used primarily as a project recording studio and I've got the flexibility to move the display to suit whichever bit of kit I happen to be facing.

I got this one which is suitable for large displays but it wasn't cheap!

Everyday usage because I will be working from home and I'm buying a KVM to link the work laptop to my home LCD , keyboard and mouse. It is only a 17" Dell LCD. my workspace will be under a stair case.

See this thread http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/34644559-post4.html I'm looking at getting the most desk space as possible.
