i am trying to update my xp (pre-installed dell version)
i keep getting the error

"Windows Update - Some updates were not installed " and a list of failed items.

i have tried researching it, but the solutions suggested have not worked.
can anyone help...

There's one fix which involves re-registering a whole heap of dll files for instance, have you found and tried that?

the one that worked for me, was about stopping the update service cant remember the exact link but found a similar one
