splitter/amplifier
ok i am having some signal issues.we have our v+ box at the front of the house where our box is on the outside, and in the back bedroom round the otherside is where i have our internet and another standard samsung box. the internet seems mostly fine but alot of the channels i will not get a signal be it sometimes itv2 or bbc or kerrang etc. i already have a 2 way splitter obviously but can i replace this with some sort of amplifier?
thanks |
Re: splitter/amplifier
Phone support? That's what you pay for.

Re: splitter/amplifier
There is nothing you can buy that will increase the signal from the cab which is where the problem will lie, you need to bite the bullet and get someone out.

Re: splitter/amplifier
how come the broadband seems to run at full speed? and some of my channels work then?

Re: splitter/amplifier
The channels are divided into Muxes. The Muxes are broadcast on different frequencies. Some are more sensitive to signal loss than others. Broadband uses it's own frequencies, which, again, can be quite sensitive to signal loss.
It's also depends on the box. V+s tend to suffer a little more than other boxes with a weak signal. If you have a low signal, you *should* contact VM. Adding an Amp (assuming you could get one) may cause more problems than it solves, and if you need to call out VM in the future, you may find that the Engineer blames any fault you have on the the changes you make to their connection, and therefore being charged for any future maintenance. Put simply, it's not worth the risk just for the sake of a phone call and staying in to wait for the engineer. |
