Software for Bookings and Invoicing
 

Hi all

I have been asked about what software packages to use, or that are good for a small hotel, so they can use to book and invoice.

The hotel will have roughly 35-40 rooms.

I also think they may want to have teh ability to book online, through online as an extra but not essential.

When it comes to these sort of apps I'm out of my depth, as it isn't my area of experience.

Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

I did a google, found http://www.caterbook.com/ which looks like it might be suitable, and they do a trial.

Having said that, I don't know anyone who has a small hotel, so can't really try it..

My B&B is too small to need a computerised system so I've never investigated these in depth. Can't help with that side of things I'm afraid.

The booking.com service offers an online booking facility that works *very* well indeed. Commission is quite expensive but you only pay on results and you can factor the extra cost into your online pricing. They'll even do a 'book now' button you can incorporate into your website.

I also looked into this but only for booking meetings, and found MRBS do a google for that, its free.

Many thanks for the replies guts :) I have passed the info onto the friend who requested it.
Looks like muggings here will be typing all their database info into it hahaha

I remember one of the Hotel Inspector programmes - and she recommended that the hotel had an online booking tool so that people could check availability and book through the internet.

Online booking now represents nearly 75% of my business...

At the moment not yet, they are trying ot the 30 day trials, for a week or so, then seeing which one suit their needs best.

But i have passed on that others do get a great deal of their bookings via online, so i think they will have to choose a package that caters for that.

there is a clearsky plugin for wordpress that is free, and that only books in what looks like hotel info, well not meeting info as you can only book in one day and depart on a different day.

it was no good to my needs
