Re: which wireless adaptor ?
Not sure they actually "support" the wireless anyway.
It seems the Virgin cable router is a WGR614, an unimproved 802.11g unit with no super, max or other tweaks, just bog-standard 802.11g, so any higher specification adapters should inter-operate in 802.11g standard mode. Bluetooth is NOT what you want. You need 802.11g, in either: USB: To fit anything with a USB port. PCMCIA/CARDBUS: To fit a laptop that has a PCMCIA/CARDBUS slot (but lacks integrated Wifi) - caution, older slots may be 16 bit PCMCIA and not compatible with 32 bit CARDBUS. PCI: The least common adapter type, but probably the most efficient for a desktop, though internal fitting is required. |

Another thing for them to tell you to switch off and on again over and over :p:

Re: which wireless adaptor ?
Is the customer services ordering the same selection as here
http://accessories.virginmedia.com/w...nSelected=3404 The cheapest are (surprise, surprise), out of stock, so in USB, it is the Belkin at £17.74, or in PCI internal, the D-Link at £17.53 One error on the site: Quote:
