Issue with pc please help
 

hi im having a issue with my pc for a long time and was wondering if anyone can help , i changed video card , mobo , power supply and still didnt help , now recently i bought another video card and running SLI and im still getting same excat fps in games


2gb ram
geforce 8800 xfx GT
geforce 8800 xfx GT
AMD PHENOM 2.3 ghz Quad core
XFX 750a mobo
500 gb western SATA HD
x3 ultra power supply 1000 walt


* before i even had sli i was getting same fps , in CSS i get aobut 50-70 and my friend has a 7900 and gets 200 fps , now with sli i thought it would increase it but its the excat same amount of fps.
in games like battlefield everything on high with more then 25-30 people starts to lagg. im sure its app related idk , maybe something in windows.
Vertical Sync is off.

when you're playing online
is it as bad with another game?

what is your OS?

Hmmm. The best of hardware could still be limited by connection speed. What sort of broadband do you have?

i have xp , yes i play online and i have cable so its not my connection.

:D nooo of course not........ it couldn't be you cable connection ??? could it?

Try your friends computer on your connection or vice versa that would rule out the computer

Is vsync on, that will limit the framerate to a fraction of the monitors refresh rate.

I believe if the Refresh rate is 60hz you will get 60fps or less.... I think

Off topic: I'm guessing you're probably not from the UK, AFAIK Ultra PSUs haven't been available over here since quite a while before that model came out.

this is going to sound really stupid but have you got the sli bridge on the correct way as sometimes if, it is on wrong it won't work i have found that out in the past with all my sli rigs, also have you enabled sli in the nvidia control panel.

what i would also do is for the games that you play try googleing the command that you would enter in to the console, usually the tilder (`) key in game for increasing the max fps i know on call of duty 4 the default is around 80-90 and i have mine set to 200 and i max it if i set to 250 i hit 260fps, other than that i not sure other than perhaps see if there are any new drivers for the cards.
