Re: X BOX Live
You're best off getting a router, e.g. -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Linksys-WRT5...0821689&sr=1-1 That way, you can use the PC & the Xbox at the same time, without having to mess around swapping cables. If you do a direct connection, you can only use one thing at a time - PC or Xbox. You also need to either clone the PC's MAC address onto the Xbox, or power cycle the modem each time you swap over. For a direct connection, have a read of the following link. It's rather old, but the basic principles haven't changed: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/15...onnection.html |

Re: X BOX Live
STB? I thought you said in the first post that you were having a modem installed?
What settings have you used/tried so far? You need to have the Xbox's IP address, DNS & Gateway set to Automatic. Find the MAC address of the PC's network card, & enter that in the MAC address section of the Xbox's network settings. There are step by step instructions in the link I gave earlier. |
