since when has throttling kicked in during the morning, thought it was only between 4 & 9pm, yet my conenction si hovering at 4.4Mb/s from Giganews.

Completely normal I'm afraid. VM started throttling the morning hours a while ago.

So in actual Fact my unlimited connection is infact limited between the hours of 10am until 9pm, the time that we in the UK want to use our connections.

Utter Pants. If only my exchange was able to get more than 8Mb ADSL. Virgin have gotten very very very very pants in the last few months. :(:mad:

actually 10 - 3pm then from 4pm - 9pm yet on the website it says this...

Up to 20Mb service

Its not a download limit really as you can carry on downloading as much as you like, it's just a lower speed

No such thing as an unlimited connection... As far as 8Mb ADSL1 most have a 40GB FUP which if you go over they'll then restrict you to 128Kb-512Kb most of the day for a month...

When did they announce they were throttling the morning and afternoon, as this is the first I have heard of it.

And BT is even bigger pants and now throttle everyone during set times whether you download a lot or not

Since such an action will have a knock on effect to voip useage, I wonder if we can argue that they are in effect cross-subsidising the voice network making it illegal under the terms of their privatisation.

I doubt it, but it's an interesting thought.

Thier response will probably be that it doesnt interfere with thier own telphone network that they can or have supplied to you.....

I have a healthy 45 gig peak time limit then an even healthier 300gig offpeak the max in a month I have used. is just over 20 gig. The connection is never traffic managed also can hop from one central to another if the one I am on is rather busy and slowing down.

On the plus side its totally unrestricted and unlimited when you're in bed....
