What should I do?
I have just received my new router from Amazon (D-Link DI-624), came rather quick which i was impressed with, BUT...one problem - It's in French , would it be possible to change the language in the router or shall i return it?
(Not sure if this is in the right topic btw) |
Re: What should I do?
If the default language is in French, I wonder if it has a UK standard warranty

Re: What should I do?
You could try the D-Link Website and check out the manuals etc.

Re: What should I do?
The warranty is 2 years/15 days or your money back. I have been googling, and apparently this is not the first time this has happened, because the suppliers (Pixmania) warehouses based in France. :td:

Re: What should I do?
Ugh, I wouldn't touch PixMania with a bargepole, if you're feeling brave (could brick the router) you could try installing UK firmware for that model.

Re: What should I do?
Right ive successfully managed to "downgrade" the firmware to an English version. And all is good :D, apart from the fact i have to use the other routers power adapter as the D-Link one was French .

Re: What should I do?
Did the Pixmania advert on Amazon specify it would be supplied with a French plug because AFAIK it is against the law to provide goods in the UK without a proper tested power supply.
If I were you I'd get the thing back to them ASAP before anything serious goes wrong! |
Re: What should I do?
I've check both plugs and they both seem to have the same output/input, so it should be ok? Ive not noticed anything wrong with the router.

Re: What should I do?
So long as the output Voltage and Amperage is the same then there shouldn't be any problems :) I say that without any prejudice :)
