Xbox updates

How does a Xbox receive updates, is it via live or do you have to copy them to CD/DVD/USB Flash?

You get a popup sliding tab upon connecting to live, the update then downloads and reboots the xbox. Doesn't take very long at all, maybe less than a minute. :)

If it's a game update you're talking about it happens when you insert the game disk and connected to live. In this case the game just restarts with the added update.
