Motorola modem anf 3Com router woes
I wonder if someone can shed some light on the following.
I have a Motorola Surfboard 4100 cable modem that has been attached to a wireless router for a couple of years on my NTL now VM account. I've acquired a 3Com 3CRWE554G72 wireless cable/dsl modem that I want to replace my current router with. The 3com router was previously working with a VirginMedia account. Try whatever I might I cant get the 3com router to connect to the 4100 modem. I've tried several known good ethernet cables without avail. I tried connecting the router to friends VM modem and the cable/dsl led lit up steady. Whatever I try when connecting to my own modem the led flicker a couple of times and then goes out. Do I need a newer modem to wok with this router or am I missing something? Thanks |

Re: Motorola modem anf 3Com router woes
Thanks for the quick reply. I've a 10mb account and I think the modem was originally purchased from NTL rather than leased. Will they still replace it?
