Virginmedia Webcache

Hey, has anyone used this yet?
Set your proxy to the following settings

IP: webcache.virginmedia.com
Port: 8080

And browse, it caches your frequently visited websites on the virginmedia server so they are loaded faster, i just found this on the virginmedia website and wounderd how you set it, so i set it as a proxy and it works (note your ip won't change it will still be the ip set in your modem)

Speed has increased for me, if you load virginmedia website it doesnt download hardly anything it just pops up straight infront of you.

I enabled as proxy in IE and it works for me and seems a lil faster on popular sites ie myspace, google, ebay.

Interesting, as I asked VM TS by email some time ago about whether or not they recommend using the webcache, and their answer was not to use it. I therefore switched it off.

This advice from TS seems completely at variance with the blurb on VM's website. Personally, I think I'll go back to using it.
