Slow Connection

HI

I was wondering if someone could help me. I live in Belfast and am an ex-NTL customer. For the past week or so it has been really slow when connecting to some web pages (sometimes 20-30minutes) and I'm getting alot of pop ups as well. I thought it may be a virus and downloaded Avast but I'm still having the same issues. I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do.

As you've probable guessed I'm not very technically minded and could do with really basic instructions.

Thanks in advance

I have read on other forums about problems in Belfast this week and one thread said to try this below.

www.opendns.org and try their servers

If you're still getting pop-ups then that hasn't solved your computer problem though. I'd also recommend you download these spyware scanners:

Thanks a million -those tips seem to have done the trick. For some reason, there are still some websites I can't get into (like ebay) but I'll keep trying!

Thanks again
