Only ONE channel available ?!
 

Hi,
Last week I had an engineer come and install a new VBox at my new property. Everything was working when he left (TV, Broadband).
However, the next day all TV services had disappeared in favour of the box sticking at "Ld:40". The broadband remained fine. I called up and arranged another engineer visit for next week (the earliest I could manage that didn't mean another day off work). Oddly, half an hour after my phonecall, all services resumed and we had a nice evening in enjoying all our new channels. We were watching UK Gold before we switched off and went to bed.

The next morning: nothing - 'this channel is not available' for everything EXCEPT UK Gold! Switching off and on again makes no difference - the ONLY channel we can watch is UK Gold.
Now I enjoy Only Fools and Horses as much as anyone, but the time comes when you want to watch something else...

As I've got to wait a few more days yet for the engineer, does anyone have any suggestions ?? It'd be nice to have some other channels in time for the UEFA Cup Final this evening. :)

I take it you have rebooted your set-top-box mike, unplugged for two minuets then plug back in.?

Oh yes. I've done it for two 'minutes' as well (several times). ;-)
It always comes back on as UK Gold regardless of which channel was selected when I pulled the power.
Also tried removing and reinserting card (both when off and when on).

try let it boot without the card see what happens , also what box is it pace/samsung or is it a V+ ??

Starts up on channel 999 when I do that. If I then insert my card, I can surf to any channel but it complains that my smart card isn't inserted properly whenever I try to view.
It's a Samsung SMT2110C.

same as i got hmm without card should show the freeview type channels bbc itv1/2 etc
well does for me?
as for the card maybe its nakered lol also maybe the card needs a good wipe, all worth a go but if all else fails contact VM and say yr samsung dontlike any channel bar ukgold

ok then, btw if ya gonna give ya viewing card a wipe dont use any liquids on it cuz it'l damage it.
