Quick tip for anyone wanting to change of job.

Working with 'disadvantaged' youths is a goldmine right now. Money is thrown at you from the government, you get to work with interesting people and you get to be on first name terms with the local Police :tu:

It's pretty rough that so much get spent on these kids. One of the kids in a local care place who was sent there for a week had £200 assigned to buy xmas presents. She repaid this kindness be absconding every night then walking the streets trying to get a stranger to get her pregnant so she could get a house and more benefits.

Some of the places struggle to spend the money and the kids just don't appreciate it at all. At least I'm benefiting as at Claire's place they have a passion for kicking in doors which all end up on my wood burning fire. *Toastie*

The number of stories I've heard about these places from the workers would make your blood boil.
For every actual hard luck case who does want to make a difference in their life, and there are some, there are 9 others who you just milk the system and give nothing back.

Even as a self confessed liberal a lot of these stories are almost soul destroying, I think in an awful lot of these cases with kids who have gone off the rails, they not only need love and care but also structure and discipline. As I work shifts I have the misfortune of joining my wife some mornings as she watches that Jeremy Kyle show, after seeing so many feckless young people with a couldn't care less attitude I honestly think there is a case for bringing back National Service.

Being honest are any of us really surprised anymore by stories like this we see them all too often. Worst thing you can be in the UK more and more is a law abiding decent member of your community what a fantastic statement for any country eh :rolleyes:.

Now if you don't like it you can always go to Poland. I'm told there's lots of jobs there and *they* won't put up with the sh*t we have to tolerate !! :(
