Re: HTC Diamond

i use the HTC touch dual (the one on the right:)) and its a very nice device...

might be tempted with the diamond, especially as it has built in GPS/Wifi, a faster processor, better GPU and win mob 6.1

no sign of pricing yet though! - EDIT - £434 handset only...

Re: HTC Diamond

Handset Only Price: £434.95 (£370.17 exc.) from Expansys

Dunno how that applies to contracts though. Although Expansys aren't the cheapest around, probably £200+ for the smaller contracts, and £50-odd for the bigger ones.

Had an XDA II a IIs and a Universal, great phones, got rid of the universal because of the page size and tariff limits.

:tu:
Mine's an SPVM5000 with an iMate ROM.
Must admit, I don't use it as a phone. I use it mainly with full screen terminal services to remote into the mail client on main machine when I'm elsewhere. Especially the sofa.
;)
HTC's phones have always interested me more than anything else. I had the HTC Canary with WM 2002 on it. Brilliant handset but daaaaaaamn slow!
Tanager wasn't better. Went to Sony Ericsson's P900i after that, but glad to have been back with an HTC, and I think my next one will be a HTC too.

Just gone with the N95, big disappointment over the XDA range, I supose it's what you get used to though

Yeah, had a play with one.
It's a phone rather than a PDA isn't it.
Very clever piece of kit, but it is primarily a phone.

Ive owned various HTC models over the years they all do much the same i never get a feeling that anything happens any faster and while you can get a billion apps for WM6 i still find my self just using email and internet on them.

That's my thinking as well, there are those in favour that would argue that the N95 can do all that the XDA's do and maybe more but it's navigation to them that is the downfall IMHO.

That's the beauty of the larger screen, nice looking internet that you can read without zooming to 1000% ( slight exageration, though in defence of the N95, it has got T.V. out on it so I could do the net viewing from a tv screen

Pretty much yeah, still no more than you might on anything else though?
I know people that do use them to their full potential, spreadsheets particularly - but of course it's all down to the individual. Nice to have the toys, but I seldom use them. I'd be lost without it's screen though. To be able to get full screen remote desktop on a handheld this size with a qwerty is a gem.

Re: HTC Diamond

They are comparing it to the iphone yet I don't think it is going to be as good. For me the xda II was good / fast and plenty of memory. The other xda's I had since that have all seemed really slow. Also the cameras are horific on the xda's.

Cool Smart Phone have a 7 day review of the diamond - looks like a very solid bit of kit. Linkage
