At what point are you as a consumer entitled to a new remote??
I've had my remote for remote for my Telewest branded V+ service since it was first available which is just over 2 years now and it is well and truly knackered.
Even with new batts you have to hold it almost directly level with the V+ box and even then it's a fight with the buttons to put just the right amount of pressure in just the right place for the function of certain buttons to work - namely the volume and the Ch+/Ch-. I'm pretty sure CS will say I'll have to pay for another even though it's no longer working due to wear and tear. Has anyone else had this problem yet?? what success did you have?? any ideas people?? |

Whilst I haven't had personal experience with replacing the remote, other people here haven't had difficulty getting free replacements.

I've seen people on the newsgroups saying they want a replacement remote and they are sent out without any reason be asked.

If the old one doesnt work it will get replaced if you havent misused it. Must admit mine takes a bashing, why to females think that when the batteries are low that means you have to press the buttons harder |

They replaced my remote without any hassles. The new one arrived within two days and I returned the old one in the packaging they provided. Simple.

A new remote is very easy to get. Just tell them it doesn't work.
The problem I had was getting them to beleive it wasn't a problem with the remote. Even though I have 3 boxes and explained that the other remotes worked fine on the box, they kept trying to send a remote. Eventually, after 20 minutes arguing they arranged an engineer call (who turned up with a new box, no questions asked). Tim |

As always I guess CS's advise is only as good as the person is feeling on the day and or whether they are having a good day themselves!!?? |
