Now, I know great discoveries can come from unrelated areas of research, but...

While our astrophysics funding is being cut to an extent which meant at one time the future of Joderell Bank may have been in the balance, other scientists get funding for this

Dunno, understanding how the Brain works sounds like a pretty worthwhile endeavour to me.
