Virgin + Netgear wireless router, how to change IP?
 

Hi, do any of the technophobes here know how to change the ip on virgin + netgear wirless router 108mps?

I've asked around other places and nobody seems to have a clue, so posting here

i can't access myspace and other forums because of ip ban, which is why i'm asking for help from any techophobes

would getting a different modem change the ip?, thanks:)

If this is you who has been banned, then maybe we shouldn't be offering assistance. ;)

Easiest way to change the IP is to power off the modem and change the setting on the router of the mac address being seen on the WAN (internet) side of the router, before powering the modem back on.

You can't just "change the modem" as that is supplied to you by VM.

sorry for sounding a dork, but exactly how do i change the setting on the router of the mac address being seen on the WAN (internet) side of the router?, i'm not good at all on that side of things, is it difficult to do?

is the mac address the routers ip or the modems?
