My Printer Is Dead - Suggestions for a New one
hi Guys,
Well my dear old Epson Photo R200 has at long last died on me. it has been a good servant to me and it don't owe me anything. RIP Anyways, I am looking to buy a new printer and well I dont want to pay a fortune but I would like it to have CD/DVD printing facility like the R200 had. I prefer Epson, but I am open to suggestions, Any ideas guys? |

R265 compats are not as expensive as they were. If you fancy an all in one the R585 has my fancy for my next printer

The usual reason they stop working is because the waste ink pads are full. You can usually restart an Epson without doing anything much using the ssc service utility , which is a free download. If you don't also clean and dry the pads, you risk having an ink leakage, but before you start taking your printer apart it's worth resetting the waste ink bit with the SSC Service Utility to see if it will in fact restart.I've restarted several now. Cleaning the pads is messy but easy enough.Once the cover is off it's possible to get at the pads without doing all the dismantling in the instructions. Finding the clips the first time you undo the cover is the hardest bit. For the record, I restarted a friends C42 three months ago, didn't clean anything, and he still hasn't had spillage , and it's still working. http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html contains some instructions for the SSC service. |
