USB maximium distance
http://www.usb.org/developers/usbfaq/#cab1
I'm I right in thinking its 30Metres? Quote:
Only thing was probably won't be easy to find a 1port Bus powered hub so would probably use a 4 port self powered hub. Basically want to connect a usb Device (pair of speakers) thats ~10M away from the Computer |
Re: USB maximium distance
I was always under the impression that the furthest you could go with USB was 25m.

Max unpowered is 5m, i reckon you could string hubs together though....

Re: USB maximium distance
I have used an extender (unpowered) using CAT5e cable and it works over 40 metres.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...ender&doy=29m3 You can get active extenders from Maplin to take the signal further than the standard 5M without it needing to be powered. http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...97272&doy=29m3 |
Re: USB maximium distance
The link I mentioned seemed to suggest not to use USB repeaters.
