Overclocking my Q6600 on stock intel air, with 4GB ram and Abit Ip35pro
Hey.
Right on an Abit Ip35 pro latest bios revision. I have Abit Uguru installed and am on Vista X64 Sp1 Ultimate, I am wondering on stock intel air, what I can acheive now the problem is I have never OC'd so ram timings and fsb frequencies are new to me. Could some nice soul possibly help me get to my goal of 3GHZ? |

Which revision of Q6600 do you have ? B3 or G0,
either way, the stock cooler will strugle to keep all 4 cores cool. The way to overclock intel chips is to raise the fsb, by default your chip will be 266, to get to 3 ghz you need to raise this to 333. you probably wont be able to do this in one go so up the speed in small steps making sure its stable each time. |

you should do a bit of research into it if you havent overclocked before
what ram do you have? |

yeah get either a articooling frezzer 7 pro or a zalman cpns9700nt as i have both and they are both very good coolers, best i've ever had but the zalman does keep it slightly cooler but only 1c and it also cost almost triple the price of the freezer

i hadn't looked at it as all the reviews i read about my cpu says they either have a zalman cpns9500/9700 or the freezer 7 also had, allot of spare fans from old cases lying around just added them in to me case not bothered about noise as long as it stays cool.
