Wireless router problems

A friend as asked me to take a look at his wireless router as he is having problems connecting to the internet. He thinks his brother has put in the wrong username in during the setup. when he tries to connect to the net he is asked to imput a phone number to dial, he types in the number and then tries to connect to the net but it keeps saying it is working offline. but he is using broadband i don't think it should be using a dial up connection. I am a complete novice when it comes to wireless routers, so i would be glad if someone could help me. the wireless router is a Belinkin 54mbps with adsl.

thanks

Re: Wireless router problems

Check the settings in internet explorer tools > options > connections are set to "never dial a connection"
