Wireless Drops every 2 mins

Hi i have a Netgear WGT624 v4 which i think has been setup correctly but when my wife connects her laptop the connection just drops every 2 mins. Most of the time it drops when she trys to browse a site, for example as soon as she try s to sign in to Hotmail bang the connection go's awol. The walls in my house are just stud walls and she was only in the other bedroom 15ft away. Any tips would be appreciated forgot to mention that the signal strength always says excellent

You might try setting the router to use a different channel. Might be someone nearby that is using the same channel as you causing interference.

Check too that your router has the latest firmware version.

Sounds like interference to me. Other possible sources are videosenders and microwave ovens.

I suggest doing a channel scan from the lappy. Then pick an unused channel at least two away from any known used ones.
