20mb slow, my signal levels, are they ok??
The past few days my internet connection has been really slow. I have rebooted my Pc, Router and modem and still no change.
I am using XP, a Netgear WPN824 modem, with my PC connected direct via ethernet cable and have an NTL 250 modem. This is a speed test done a few minutes ago. Not what it should be. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2008/03/24.png Also checked my download speed via, http://fuller.zen.co.uk/test/ Downloaded a 100mb file, it peaked at 573kb/sec and took almost three minutes. Can someone who knows the levels take a look at my cable modem signal levels and tell me if there is a problem or are all levels normal. I want to ring tech support but from past experience they'll tell me the problem is my end, so just to check I'd like some advice first. Much appreciated. Quote:

Re: 20mb slow, my signal levels, are they ok??
Anyone please?
I have had some issues with my speed which I want to address, but I'd like to know if it's at my end, my router, modem etc or if it's a Virgin problem. I have had cause to ring tech support before and was told it was my set up to blame. Never did find out really because in spite of not changing anything my end it righted itself. Help and advice is much appreciated. |

Take your router out of the equasion and try a direct connection to your modem.
