Wireless Security

Hi All

I have a wireless router and a wireless access point in my house (1 upstairs/1 downstairs). Is it possible to use WEP on one and WPA on the other?

The reason I want to use WEP on 1 is so I can connect my DS to the network.

Thanks

Can you try it to see what happens?

If your router has the option you could try adding your DS to the DMZ zone of your router?

That does not surprise me in the least to be honest.

Given the choice, always go for WPA! Three members of staff at "a school" who live on site had BT HomeHubs with WEP only. Within a week, "some pupils" had run sniffing software, unscrambled the key and were using it as an alternative to the "restricted" school version. The staff now use WPA without issue!
