Speed
Just wanted to share my latest connection speed using firefox download accelerator.
[img]Download Failed (1)[/img] Although speed during the day is around 800kbs - 1.88mbs till 4pm then 8mbs till midnight. i am now stuck even more should i stick with my sky connection or my virgin connection. |
Re: Speed
Lol, alright dude.
How far is your contract? If it's past 1 month then you can't stop the service until a full year. EDIT: Although, i think sky would be a better choice. Then again, Virgin might fix all their problems and become the best. OR Go the other way, and fail Britain for years. |
Re: Speed
broadband went live on 22nd of feb and waiting for sky activation on 10th march which i get an 8 day cool off period.

Re: Speed
kingabs, are you on 20Mb/s?
If you are, that speed is fine (2.25MB/s x 8 = 18Mb/s) |
Re: Speed
yup 20mbs is what i am on!
ps what power levels are acceptable for my connection? |

Re: Speed
kingabs, are you still unhappy with this speed?
2.33 MB/sec = 2.33X8= 18.64Mb/sec It means you are getting almost 19 meg of download speed. |
Re: Speed
confused as to what you're complaining about...
|
Re: Speed
I am thinking the same shows you have a nice 18-19Mb connection
|
Re: Speed
I think i may stick with Virgin. At leaset my phone line wont get knocked down by a tree like last year and then no service through my BT line for a week.
|
Re: Speed
You have made a good choice either way you could get VOIP as a back up

Attachment 15939 My latest shot of DownThem All seemed kinda confused but it was bouncing between 15Mb to a hell of a lot more than it should have been.:D Either way though even 8Mb....never mind 18Mb is more than enough in reality. Unless their trying download teh whole interweb course;) After the first 4/5 months of extremely sub-standard 20Mb we`re now more than happy with the 18Mb+ we`ve had this last 4 months now. Between myself and the kids with all their pc`s,(ahem)playstations, psp`s,DS`s,Wii`s and god know what other bandwidth consuming gadgets they all have i`m sure we`ll find a use for all those excess Megabits yet.:erm: Mabey i`ll just become one of them PC gamers now :) Get me one of those alternative OS`s and try hammer that bandwidth we have far too much off,for any home user/s!!...... ...........>easy boys easy now!!<;) EDIT: Quote:
Theres got to be a call to complaints in there somewhere eh :-) Spare Megabits going @xpod........PM for great deals  |
Re: Speed

Just joking,i am indeed a lucky guy but it`s nothing whatsoever to do with any excess Megabits.More to do with all the excess hormones flying around,if the wife & daughters are all to be believed:dozey: Quote:

Of course, the Excess Megabits are indeed a big whopper but then the speedtests are rather inaccurate at the best of times anyway. The test here though has never been too far off any download tests these last few months but i`d still never rely on it alone,or any other speedtest come to that. Code:
