In most cases you don't actually need to enter anything to the router setup assuming you are connecting to a cable modem. Tech support can't actually give you much information as they dont "support" routers. I'd suggest a reset to factory on the router setup. Power off the modem, router and computer(s) plug ethernet between router WAN (internet) and modem, plug ethernet between router LAN (network) and computer. Power modem and let settle Then power router and let settle Then power computer and let settle. Establish a wired connection first, and later worry about the wireless. Once powered up you should be able to browse (Internet Explorer) to the router's admin page. If you can't do that you need more examination of your computer's networking and internet explorer settings. Once powered up the router connected to Cable should auto detect the internet settings from the modem. If it does not, then we'll need to take a more specific look. |
