Wifi router (Virgin cable, desktop PC, laptop & Cisco Aironet card)?

:dunce: Right. Hello all, and 'HELP'...!

I know loads of threads / guides here on similar, but some old, and others conflicting, and just fully renovated house & baby on the way (imminently) so need quick, good advice!!

What's the best wifi router & PC card to buy in my situation?

1. ntlhome: 120 cable modem, 4mb Virgin Media (XL customer, not upgraded yet)
2. desktop PC will be different room to cable modem (old Multivision 2800XP Athlon, but happy as larry)
3. works laptop (HP nc6120 - full admin rights) with Cisco Aironet 802.11a/b/g card (AIR-CB21AG-E-K9)

Not yet using works laptop at home as well but obviously want to, desktop PC being re-located (baby)...

Money not an issue (within reason) - just want easy setup, reliable, secure - my last foray into this was an old HP Tablet PC by wifi to 1 & 2 above via cheapo USB D-Link adapter (PC-on only web tho) - and even that took AGES to set-up...

Whadyareckon...?!?!?

thanks zeph... reading more on it, ideally you'd just have another highspeed extender wall-plugged for the PC, then the wirless extender somewhere else to roam with the laptop...? not clear from the site though...
