How would you feel?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7262378.stm

You've been told that your unborn baby will most likely have severe mental disabilities and may not live for very long but when he's born he's found to be in perfect health.

That couple bear no ill-will (maybe out of relief?) but how do you think YOU would feel?

I would probably try for compensation if I had spent money in preparation, but mostly I would probably feel relief.

I think we would probably have terminated, and would have therefore been none the wiser.

Hmmm. What about the parents who have terminated their babies early, at the advice of the hospital. Should imagine that they might be wondering if they were right to do so. Potential to open a can of worms...

I'm glad the baby is fine, but continuing doom and gloom all the way to delivery - surely that ultrasound needs checking! Or maybe the staff who use it need better training.

What a terrible thing to go through, I am so glad the little one is healthy.

It makes you wonder if the scan results were mixed up with another baby...

I'd probably be the same, cover costs (if they had nearly bankrupted me again), but be overjoyed that my baby was healthy.
I'd also want to understand what went wrong. Were the tests misread, or does my baby have the physical symptoms but without the actual effect?
If it was misread, then what can be put in place to stop it happening again.
I'd want to be constructive with the hospital, not destrictive, as I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same.

Been through it, before the emergency caesarian they said she'll prolly have some problems and asked if we wanted to go through with it.

we was in a right mess but but she was our daughter they did the c section she was tiny reeally small. and there was'nt a thing wrong with her the hospital did a great job and it did'nt even enter my mind to sue or whatever to over joyed.
