How would you feel?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7262378.stm
You've been told that your unborn baby will most likely have severe mental disabilities and may not live for very long but when he's born he's found to be in perfect health. That couple bear no ill-will (maybe out of relief?) but how do you think YOU would feel? |
Re: How would you feel?
Happy the baby is ok, end of.
|
Re: How would you feel?
Oh dear, imagine if they'd had the pregnancy terminated ... :|
|
Re: How would you feel?
healthy baby, more then enough for me. and no I wouldnt be sueing the hospital.
|
Re: How would you feel?
I would probably try for compensation if I had spent money in preparation, but mostly I would probably feel relief.
|
Re: How would you feel?
I think we would probably have terminated, and would have therefore been none the wiser.
|
Re: How would you feel?
Hmmm. What about the parents who have terminated their babies early, at the advice of the hospital. Should imagine that they might be wondering if they were right to do so. Potential to open a can of worms...

Relief and anger, angry and what might have been done on getting the news.
|
Re: How would you feel?
I would just thank god that the baby is fully healthy,
|
Re: How would you feel?
I'm glad the baby is fine, but continuing doom and gloom all the way to delivery - surely that ultrasound needs checking! Or maybe the staff who use it need better training.

Re: How would you feel?
What a terrible thing to go through, I am so glad the little one is healthy.
|
Re: How would you feel?
It makes you wonder if the scan results were mixed up with another baby...

I'd also want to understand what went wrong. Were the tests misread, or does my baby have the physical symptoms but without the actual effect? If it was misread, then what can be put in place to stop it happening again. I'd want to be constructive with the hospital, not destrictive, as I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same. |
Re: How would you feel?
Been through it, before the emergency caesarian they said she'll prolly have some problems and asked if we wanted to go through with it.
we was in a right mess but but she was our daughter they did the c section she was tiny reeally small. and there was'nt a thing wrong with her the hospital did a great job and it did'nt even enter my mind to sue or whatever to over joyed. |
