That's fascinating, and squick-worthy, all at the same time. :)

The article didn't say that her offspring were haming her in any way, just eating the extra skin. It seems beneficial for them both; Babies get bigger, and Mum gets rid of the extra skin she grew during the reproductive process.

Did anyone else watch the video and go 'aww!' when they showed their little teeths? :romance:

I checked Wikipedia to see if maybe they're related to slow worms, but found no connection. I did happen across this bit of info:
