Since when was this government able to keep very much secret? Is this going to be just a recipe for increased rumour and speculation in the City?

might be better in the long term really.... cuz if the news that the Rock wasnt reported via the BOE then the run wouldn't have happend.

Unfortunately, publishing or witholding information like that is a double edged sword. On the one hand the information caused the bank run to occur but on the other people have a right to know about the significant financial situation that many lenders are in due to the greed that is inherent in most of the financial institutions.
