Samsung box died - any risk I'll get a Pace replacement?

My Samsung box died at the weekend. It won't come out of standby and there is a little flashing green LED inside the box which I understand from previous threads probably means the PSU has fault.

The Tech is coming on Wednesday to fix it.

Is there any chance that I'll get an old Pace box as a replacement?

I had 5 different Pace boxes and none of them would do VoD for me.

About a year ago I was given a Samsung which has proved to be about 90% reliable for VoD (i.e. as near perfect as is possible for VM :D).

Dreading getting another Pace. Have they been withdrawn yet?

Depends what the engineer has on his van, you could always ask him nicely and make him a cup of tea, perhaps he'll have a spare one for nice customers ;)

Oh dear, I had rather hoped that the Pace boxes would have been retired.

All of the oldest Pace boxes have (1000, 2000 etc) but some of the 4000 series boxes are still used

I have the same problem, tech coming round on friday to bring a new box. Reason I didn't ring sooner was because it would come back on after a few hours but have had enough of it being intemittently on/off so tech bringing new box on friday. hope it's another samsung, last box i had was a pace and it was pathetically slow
