No EGP today - Support say I need a site visit
This morning my EGP shows info from midnight last night. I rebooted (30 secs down time) before calling support. They then asked me to do it again and sent a signal to the box. Initially I thought they'd sorted it as it said "no program information" and then started downloading it. It then just showed the same info from last night again.
TV, On Demand, Interactive all work so it's just EGP. It also seems to screw up my planned recordings. e.g. I got "failed" for a program which should have recorded early today. Since everythings accessible via the network why do we have to stay in for another engineer visit? This will be three visits inside 2 weeks. |

Hi mine is the same this morning. I suspect its Vm's problem not your box or set up.

Re: No EGP today - Support say I need a site visit
Mine started working as well after about an hour.
Since no one's contacted me to say's it's fixed, I had the "if no one is in when we visit we'll charge £10 and all in all didn't get the service I'd expect, should I let them know not to bother turning up :dozey: |

Re: No EGP today - Support say I need a site visit
but I'm a dumb user and how do I know if there is a fault with my box ? ;)
Seriously - they diagnosed it's the box. Just coz the issue has gone away doesn't mean the underlying problem has....unless they misdiagnosed. |

I know that and you know that but can someone tell me why the engineer replaced a bit of coax today with one with a different frequency shift. "Apparently" the high signal strenth has been known to cause the box to keep dropping EGP but now it should be fine.....or at least that's what I heard from my wife when I got home
