Re: installing bef sr41 router

The Modem should connect into the routers WAN port using a RJ45 network cable
Your Local PC can connect to any other port on the router using a RJ45 network cable
Your remote PC can connect to any other port on the router using your long RJ45 network cable

Turn everything off, then power up in the following order with 30 seconds between:

Modem
Router
Local PC
Remote PC

If you have any problems let us know :)

Isn't it nice when people come back to say thanks :tu:

just one word of caution, the bfsr41 routers come in many different versions - some only have a 10baseT WAN interface & are not capable of much beyond a 4Mb/s connection.

Hi,
I'm having trouble with the Linksys. I followed your instructions but when I tried to connect to the internet the "Computer Provisioning Logon" screen appeared and I had to re register. When everythinh was restarted again the same screen re-appeared.

Any ideas?

It's the Linksys Befsr41 and I have a Samsung SMT 2100c Set top box.

Cheers
