dvi to hdmi

I,ve recently had v+box installed to enable to receive HD tv, however
my LG HD ready set has DVI con and to enable HD mode I connected
same to box with DVI to HDMI cable, set now shows HD okay but sound
muted so fixed phono red /white from box to cons on tv. Despite all this
I still have no sound in HD mode. Is it poss that I have used wrong cons
on box?

Any suggestions would be appreciated .

Re: dvi to hdmi

In the menu there is an option called "HDMI Audio Override" or something like that, you need to enable it to enable Analogue audio.

Re: dvi to hdmi

Check the back of your TV as the audio leads on some DVI/TVs will need to be plugged in to the audio sockets right next to your DVI socket.

My DVI TV had a conspicuous set of red/white Audio sockets which I originally used and had the same problem you are experiencing until I realised that the DVI set up had its own audio sockets.

add:- You would not need to make any changes in the set up menu if this works

Always like to see if things work out. Not got my HD TV yet, but soon as this Sony drops dead, I'll be in the shop.
