Nice to see that Murder sentences have been given. However how long before some idiot gets involved and gets them out after serving only months like happened only last week .

One issue highlighted over this case is raising the drinking age to 21, as one of the murderers had reportedly drank 5 bottles of cider before the incident with Mr Newlove - Will raising the age limit solve anything? I think not - the real issue is social order, its completely out of focus in Britain.

But for Newlove this was an horrible and meaningless violent crime which resulted in a loss of life and robbed a family of a loving husband and dad.

They are **** and represent all that Britain has become. A society which celebrates chav culture and revels in disorder,crime and drunkeness. I would have them executed despite their ages. They will probably never amount to much and will kill or do harm again.

I have changed my mind somewhat on the death sentence. Better to put them in a rat infested **** hole with the minimum food to keep them alive and for the rest of there lives don't let them speak to a single person or have contact with other human beings in anyway. Lets see what the anti death sentence people think of that. Still to hard on them you can bet.

Linked in with the Police Inspector who was given bail I wonder what Swellings previous was and what he was on bail for. I'm willing to bet there is quite a bit of violence involved yet he was still out on bail.

Still in places where people can refuse to go to court in case they are given a lower quality cell, refuse to move prisons as where they are going doesn't have enough plugs for their TV/DVD player or get bail after being found guilty of an unprovoked racist attack nothing surprises me anymore. Even people released early from prison get bail if they are accused of another crime.

On the local BBC News, it said that he was released the same day for beating up another bloke in a similar incident.

A very sad and tragic case. Anyone who commits a crime while on bail should have 5 years added to their sentences. That may focus a few minds and if it doesn't well at least the *******s involved will be out of harms way.

Simple solution for all this, kill them. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. This country is on it's backside and it's the human rights idiots who have sent it that way.

Well it seems Adam Swellings was on bail for... assaulting someone who asked him to stop hanging around the front of his house.

Personally once bail is breached once I think it should be off-limits until you don't have any more court cases/probation/early release licences hanging over you.

The root of the problem here is young mothers and teenage pregnancies. Now, i'm not saying every teenage pregnancy is a bad thing, my sister had a child when she was a teenager, albeit toward the end of the teenage years(19) and that turned out fine, but these kids having kids at 14-16...i mean come on, its rediculous! What can you know about life and bringing up kids at that age?? The products of the teenage pregnancies of the early nineties are now the uneducated chav's of today. And when they either get pregnant or get some young one pregnant then in 17 years time the cycle continues. Young mother + no father around (Probably because he's a ******* with no cash and is afraid of fatherhood) = 90% chance of bad upbringing. Christ , when i was 14 i was playing footie with my friends and building camps in the local woods, not going out drinking and having sex. As for sentencing for these chumps, i'm all for labour camps all the way. Work for food, undergo 3 hours a day social education followed by 9 hours hard labour. 2-year stints for minor crimes like theft/burglary, longer for harsher crimes like GBH. The last point i'll make is a bit weird, personally i believe that if someone is causing you bother you should be able to deal with them physically, as in give them a good hiding (not to the extent of GBH, however), too many people get away with too much as theres no fear in them of retaliation.
