ntlworld e-mail problem

hello

I left Virgin approx 5 months ago and am now with Bt (no cable in my area), since then i have been using my ntlworld e-mail account via webmail with no issues. however 3 days ago everytime i went to log into my webmail it refuses me entry stating that my username and or password is incorrect (it isnt).
also when i go through outlook express it states that my username and password has been rejected (error number 0x800ccc92), does anyone know why this is and how i can regain access

many thanks

:welcome:

looks like that NTL have disabled your account then as you have already left them 5 months ago... which is normal for ISP Emails to disable accounts normally after 3 months.

If you are no longer a VM customer it's possible that the email account has been closed? Some seem to stay open indefinitely, but VM might finally be getting their act together and having a cull.

I doubt it, if your account has been disabled because you are no longer a customer, or in other words your address has been deleted, all stored mail will be lossed.

You can check this by sending an email to your old ntlworld.com address, if it bounces, then its gone.

There is a moral here, never use your ISP's email address but use a generic one like Google mail or Lycos and you can change ISP's as many times as you like without loosing out, sorry it doesn't help at the moment.
