3 Recording Lights?!

Is that right? Ive got three red dots, recording lights, showing up on my box, in standby at the moment.

Could it be that its recording 3 things in standby? If so, this makes things a lot easier for me now! I thought you could only record two!!! I knew they had 3 tuners, but always thought one was exclusive to live recording, and was inactive in standby!

If so, its made my xmas! :D

Merry Christmas all!

If you have 3 recording lights, then yes, it is recording 3 programmes even when it is in Standby. Isn't technology wonderful;););) Merry Xmas.

I went through all weeks program guide and set all sorts to record. So yes it does record on standby. I should imagine the wife will be setting a few programs to record as well.
;)

Well it's not using the third tuner for you to watch so it might as well use it for something? :)

So true, but has it always been that way?

I dont remember ever taking advantage of this, but now I know its there, I can spend more time on the computer.

Problem is, how can you book three things in at the same time to start, when the TV guide will tell you they clash? Maybe if I just set three at the same time, then I quickly turn off the box, it wont notice. :)

i don't know if it's the same on v+ but on my top up tv+ upstairs which has 2 tuners, if 2 programs clash it will record them but only let you on the 2 channels you are recording from

Hmmmm, it could help with the old issue of recording two consecutive programs on one channel when also recording a program one the other.
It's annoying when the last few minutes of one of the program ends up on the start of the other.

Re: 3 Recording Lights?!

Sorry to bump an old topic, but it happened again tonight... although tonight, it was a fault.

Basically, after Pausing Eastenders for a few Minutes, three lights appeared, but once I pressed play, the Box refused to do anything but flash the Eastenders logo for a split second, then go off. Red button wouldnt work, nor would On Demand (which would show a black screen for 4 seconds, then the clock would cycle back to 0 and show that screen for another 4 seconds.)

As I had Eastenders and Emmerdale to record tonight, I left it until 8pm, when it restarted, and all seems well now.

Im not sure yet if the third light actually meant that the box WAS recording something other than Eastenders and Emmerdale, or if it was recording one of these TWICE. Thats something I will find out later...

I think that it will do this if you have 3 things that are recorded by season link or 2 plus one by season link that slips in after the 2 at a time logic for the other programs has occurred.
