V+ broken 2 days before christmas
Well here is a ggod one
V+ box developed a fault with sound 3 days before christmas, spoke to asian cc who advised earliest appointment 28/12/07(not a happy chappy). Phoned uk cc who passed me through for tecnical assistance(LOL). I was asked if i had checked all connections and i proceeded to laugh as it is the first thing to always try and that was the end of the technical assistance. After being put back through to cs I was then asked about setting the date for repair and then proceeded to lodge complaint and advised VM their "technical advisors required training". After hanging up i moved the v box from my bedroom to living room and managed to fix it. so no V+ for christmas:mad::mad::mad: |
Re: V+ broken 2 days before christmas
So how is this VM's "fault" 2 days before Christmas? Electronics will be electronics after all

Re: V+ broken 2 days before christmas
Unfortunately electronics these days are not fault free. Indeed VMs own terms and conditions say they don't guarantee a fault free service. Manufacturer's of most good offer at least a 12 month guarantee, why because we the consumer don't believe them that their goods are durable.
V+ is like any piece of kit. Many will have no problems, some will be unfortunate. The real gripe here is the timing of when the thing goes wrong. I swear that most electronics have a built in "critical failure annoyance detector", and for the OP Christmas is a biggie. Bottom line to get a repair visit in 2 working days of a fault being reported is good going - you don't expect repair visits on Christmas and Boxing day do you? |
Re: V+ broken 3 days before christmas
I understand your point but, what about a christmas eve repair. I mean all they have to do is give me a new box that will take 5 mins to change over but they are too busy getting money to put new boxes in for christmas and not taking care of current customers.
Is that so hard to ask for when i pay the £85 per month. I have been with VM for 4 and half years and before that at my old house with ntl for 5 years. |
Re: V+ broken 2 days before christmas
Phone CS they may well be able to give you some credit for loss of service

Re: V+ broken 2 days before christmas

There is a possibility that a tech visit may not be required and perhaps a refresh "HIT" needs sending to the box to resolve the issue, might I suggest you post your fault on the Virgin Media Newsgroup at: Virginmedia.support.tv and someone from VM Technical Support (in the UK which is manned 7 days a week till 10pm) will reply fairly quickly, its a much better route to report a fault tbh rather than speaking to someone in India. |

In truth a hit sometimes fixes boxes that won't boot up, and some missing channel problems, but not much else. Certainly not audio problems. But if the OP just needs the volume turning up, I can probably help. |
Re: V+ broken 2 days before christmas
Basically when using V+ box there is a constant buzzing regardless of volume, I have tried using external sound through 5.1 but still getting the buzzing sound.
Have swapped boxes with my V box in bedroom and it works fine. So clearly its the V+ that is broken. I don't have an HDTV so cant try it with HDMI cable. |
Re: V+ broken 2 days before christmas
Have you also changed the SCART cable - that can sometimes cause issues.
|
Re: V+ broken 2 days before christmas
its nothing to do with the scart, i am using it the same scart with V box that i am using and no problem, the fault is still there with V+ even when using external source
