Divx/xvid playback

Works for streaming as well :D

Currently got housemates 360 pulling a Divx video from my "server" machine.

Its going wired (100mbit/s) > switch > UPA (powerline) > wireless > xbox without any problems at all :D

Yeah, works quite well doesn't it :)

I'm glad they've finally done this (& still surprised). Means I can finally retire my old Xbox with XBMC.

I was amazingly surprised how well it worked over wireless. Only my higher-bitrate Top Gear's started to skip frames. Hence why I spend last night running ethernet up the chimney to my study :)

my network runs downmy chinmey as well :)
if the xbox 360 wasnt a loud beast of a box id probably get one just for the divx play back but waiting to see if they develop it anymore as u can get sexy stand alones for £150 that will do a whole host more (of course they dont play games :) )

MS should of just asked the lovelly XBMC lads

My house mates one is fairly quiet i think thats becuase its a newer one (has HDMI) mines rather noisy though since its an older one....

I was using Ushare to stream from a p3 500mhz running ubuntu 7.10 server.
