change delay to divert to voicemail or turn vm off

How do I change the delay before my calls divert to vm viocemail? They divert in 15 seconds which I find is too short and I often miss calls.

Alternatively how do I turn VM off? In my T610 I have tried repeatedly to cancel 'divert unanswered' but everytime I check the status it has changed back to divert on.

It is set as a standard length of time ,but I believe you can get it extended if you phone them up .( there ma be a one of charge.)

Found the answer on another website... for anyone who's interested you dial the following code:

**61*447945190314*11*40#

**61* is divert settings
the 4479xxx bit is VM voicemail service, change if your with O2, t-mile etc
the *11* means voice calls
the *40# means divert after after 40 seconds. This is the highest VMs network would accept

I hope this helps someone else

I was told you need to dial, **61*44068----------*11*40#

Where ---------- is your mobile number without the 0 at the start, not sure if it's different for PAYG

Glad I found this

Who on earth thinks 15 seconds is long enough to answer a mobile??!

Although I've just had my Voicemail number changed to 44002---------- which you have to put in the code for it to work

---------- Post added at 01:10 ---------- Previous post was at 01:07 ----------

Although it seems it's now 30 seconds as the maximum

Is there any code where you can turn off VM VOICE PLUS personal message and name using these codes

I have called VM support who say these messages are OPTIONAL - a lie, you have NO OPTION other to record a message and a name - other services allow you to use a STANDARD GREETING - but not VM it seems ???

When did you call as you should have the option of a standard welcome or recording your own message greeting.

Call tomorrow after 0800 and you should get some help and advice.

Re: change delay to divert to voicemail or turn vm off

Thanks for comment, BUT I have called them twice and they tell me I should have the option which I do NOT have - they do not seem to offer to see this as a fault.

Do I have to spend hours on the phone and pay £2 a month extra for a service which fails to deliver?

Any practical ideas of getting it fixed

The 1571 service does work on a Sunday and I have spoken today but current queue is 20 mins + - but you can choose which music to listen to while you wait (maybe not for me)

Are you talking about the landline voicemail service?

Yes - did not know there was any other version unless you mean mobile

Just had another hour on the phone - told me to access 1571 from another phone and would get option - rubbish - its just the same

is anyone outthere? perhaps I should go to BT or drop the Plus Voicemail - ??

As this thread is in the Mobile Phone forum, it was talking about the Mobile Phone Voicemail ;)

If there is no option to use a standard greeting on the Plus voicemail, then you would have to swap to the free version to use a pre-recorded greeting
